The F/P word in 2025?

Can Melbourne Tigers fans say the F/P word in 2025? It is possible but it will come down to getting some wins and results going the Tigers way.

Melbourne’s Men are third with a 11-6 record, helped by winning four of the last five games, they are two wins up on 8th to 11th position as they have nine wins, next opponent Sandringham has played one less game and sits in that 8th spot.

Melbourne’s Women are sixth with a 11-6 record, they’ve won four straight, Diamond Valley in fifth has won four out of five and the rest of the Top 5 teams have gone five from five so those are some very strong teams up there.

So, there are Sandringham, Ringwood, Diamond Valley, Casey and Waverley to play to finish off the season.

For the men that’s 8th, 11th, 18th, 4th and 10th coming up, beat Sandringham, Waverley and Ringwood and that will help create a buffer on those trying to get into the finals/playoffs.

For the Women, 10th, 9th, 5th, 12th and 7th are coming up, there are no sure slam dunks in those games but there are no slam dunk games in sports, favourites can be knocked off by having a bad day or their opposition having a good day, one benefit to playing all those teams so close is the potential for a buffer on the ladder.

It has been a mostly barren decade for Tigers fans since the NBL team became United but hopefully both sides make it, and we get to celebrate being contenders again.
